KARACHI: Stefanie Taylor registered captain’s knock to help West Indies women clean sweep ODI series 3-0 against Pakistan women by winning the third and final contest by six wickets here at National Stadium on Sunday.
Taylor was on song with her magnificent run that accounted for 12 boundaries, remaining not out for 102 runs off 117 balls.
Set to chase 226 in the final game of the series, West Indies lost three wickets for 15 runs, giving Pakistan all the initial power.
But, Taylor took the responsibility alongside Hayley Matthews to build up the visitors’ momentum. They both scored 83 runs together to put down a solid fight against the opponents in their backyard. Hayley fell after scoring 49 including eight boundaries.
Taylor then partnered with Chedean Nation to score 128 runs to help West Indies pull off a convincing victory against the Green Shirts. Nation remained not out for 51 runs laced with seven boundaries.
For Pakistan, Anam Amin bagged two wickets while Diana Baig and Sadia Iqbal managed to take a wicket each.
Earlier, Muneeba Ali (58) and Aliya Riaz (44) drove Pakistan to 1125-7 in 50 overs. Muneeba stood firm despite Pakistan losing wickets at the other end. Muneeba made 58 runs off 88 balls including eight boundaries.
Aliya Riaz made 44 off 57 including three boundaries and a six.
Shakera Selman and Aaliyah Alleyne bagged two wickets each while Taylor took one.
