KARACHI: Pakistan’s weightlifter Talha Talib, who represented the country in the Tokyo Olympics has been ruled out of the upcoming Commonwealth Games following his doping violation.
Talha, who is already suspended in the doping case, will not be able to travel to Birmingham to participate in the global event.
Talha, who came in fifth place in weightlifting at the Tokyo Olympics, failed a drug test, conducted in April this year.
The weightlifter’s blood samples were found to contain illicit drug samples, according to the reports. Talha, on the other hand, had turned down the allegations, claiming he never used any forbidden drug.
