PERTH: Australian star legspinner Adam Zampa’s participation in his side’s second Super 12 match against Sri Lanka on Tuesday (today) has been under the clouds as he returned a positive Covid test earlier in the day.
A team spokesperson confirmed that Zampa recently tested positive for Covid-19 but had displayed only minor symptoms, reported cricket.com.au.
Meanwhile, the team management insists that the legspinner remains available for selection since there are no mandatory isolation requirements in place.
Although If he is selected for today’s match, Zampa would have to travel separately and his contact with other Australian players and support staff would be limited.
Earlier, Ireland’s George Dockrell participated in the match against Sri Lanka on Sunday in Hobart despite the team’s assessment of him as “potentially positive.”
