NEW YORK: The toss for the highly-anticipated ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 clash between fierce rivals Pakistan and India has been delayed due to rain here on Sunday.
However, five minutes after the official announcement of the delay, the rain stopped downpouring here and the umpires came out for an inspection.
The umpires then carried out another inspection 20 minutes later and as per the sources, the coin toss will now take place at 7:30 PM, Pakistan Standard Time (PST).
Whereas, the first ball of the blockbuster clash will be bowled at 8 PM (PST).
Earlier, the weather forecast predicted a 30 to 50 per cent chance of rain before the match at the Nassau County Stadium in New York.

Pakistan and India will lock horns for the eighth time in a T20 World Cup when they square off at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium on June 9.
Out of seven matches played thus far between the arch-rivals, India emerged victorious six times while Pakistan tasted triumph only once.
The two teams boast contrasting momentums as India eased past Ireland by eight wickets in the campaign opener while Pakistan succumbed to a humiliating defeat against the USA.
