DUBAI: Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav has moved closer to Pakistan batter Mohammad Rizwan, who retained the No.1 spot in the latest T20I rankings despite losing crucial points.
According to the ranking updates released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday, Rizwan kept his top position on the T20I batters’ list with a difference of just 16 rating points between him and No.2 ranked Suryakumar.
Meanwhile, Pakistan captain Babar Azam remained in the third spot with 801 rating points on the latest T20I rankings.
Rizwan remained the leading run-scorer of the recently concluded home series against England with 316 runs, however, he missed the sixth game and fell cheaply in the final T20I which resulted in a drop in his ratings.
Suryakumar, on the other hand, had a phenomenal run with the bat in the past week as well since he scored two half-centuries in the T20I series against South Africa.
In T20I bowlers’ rankings, Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga jumped to the third position while Adam Zampa also moved a spot since South Africa’s Tabraiz Shamsi dropped two spots to the fifth position.
Australia’s Josh Hazelwood remained at the top followed by Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan in the second on the T20I bowlers’ list.
