DAMBULLA: Sri Lanka have won the toss and elected to bowl first against Pakistan in the second semi-final of the ACC Women’s Asia Cup 2024 here at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Friday.
Both sides are unchanged for the all-important semi-final.
Sri Lanka: Vishmi Gunaratne, Chamari Athapaththu (c), Harshitha Samarawickrama, Hasini Anushka, Kavisha Dilhari, Nilakshika Silva, Inoshi Priyadharshani, Udeshika Prabodhani, Sugandika Kumari, Achini Kulasuriya.
Pakistan: Muneeba Ali (wk), Gull Feroza, Sidra Amin, Nida Dar (c), Omaima Sohail, Aliya Riaz, Fatima Sana, Syeda Aroob Shah, Tuba Hassan, Sadia Iqbal, Nashra Sandhu.
Speaking at the toss, Pakistan captain Dar expressed her satisfaction with her team’s batting unit’s performance in the recent matches and claimed 140 to be a good total to defend on this pitch.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka captain Athapaththu expressed confidence in her bowlers’ abilities and termed 140 a good total to chase.
Sri Lanka and Pakistan have faced each other 19 times in Women’s T20 Internationals with the latter having a slight superior record with 10 wins.

Pakistan women’s had a disastrous start to the Women’s Asia Cup 2024 campaign as they succumbed to a seven-wicket defeat against arch-rivals India.
However, the Green Shirts made a decent recovery with thumping victories over the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Nepal.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, have been unbeaten in the ongoing continental tournament, winning all of their three group-stage fixtures and topping the Group B standings.
Notably, both Sri Lanka and Pakistan won their previous respective fixtures by 10 wickets.
