MIRPUR: Sri Lanka have dethroned Pakistan from the fourth position in the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) points table after a 1-0 series victory over Bangladesh, here on Friday.

Sri Lanka national men’s cricket team clinched 12 vital points following their series win over the hosts Bangladesh to dethrone the then fourth-placed Pakistan in the World Test Championship points table.

The two-match Test series concluded today as the touring side only needed 29 runs to seal the victory and the series as the first Test was ended in a draw.

Sri Lankan pacer Asitha Fernando was adjudged the player of the match, who became just the second bowler from the country to take a 10-wicket haul in an away Test.

The veteran right-handed batter Angelo Matthews, on the other hand, was adjudged as the Player of the Series as he remained the top-scorer of the series with 344 runs including two centuries.

The Green Shirts will now take on Sri Lanka in a two-match away Test series, scheduled in July-August this year and will be hoping to reclaim their position on the points table.
