Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 22 runs to qualify for U19 Asia Cup final

DUBAI: Sri Lankan bowlers outshined as Pakistan fell apart in the low-scoring semi-final of U19 Asia Cup here on Thursday. 

Set to chase 147 runs in 50 overs, Pakistan were bowled out for 125 after a fighting contest.

A slower start from Pakistani batters put them under pressure as middle-order came out in a nervous situation. Mohammad Shehzad scored 30 runs including just a boundary.

Ahmed Khan resisted in the end by scoring 36 runs off 74 balls including a boundary but Sri Lankan bowlers did the job for their team.

Treveen Mathews bagged four wickets while Dinuth Wellalage took three.

Earlier, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 147 runs thanks to bowlers Zeeshan Zameer who took four wickets, and Ahmed Khan, Awais Ali who managed two wickets each.

Yasiru Rodrigo and Mateesha Pathirana scored the highest 31 runs each.
