South African top-order batter signs up for PSL 10 player draft

South Africa’s top-order Rilee Rossouw has signed up for the highly-anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 Player Draft.

The draft will take place in the port city of Gwadar in Balochistan on Saturday, 11 January 2025. The start timing of the event will be shared in due course.

Rossouw’s registration for the upcoming season was confirmed through a video post on the PSL’s social media accounts.

The video showcased the remarkable batting feats of Rilee Rossouw from his previous appearances in the league. “South African hard-hitting left-hander Rilee Rossouw enters the HBL PSL Draft,” the video caption stated.

Rossouw stands out as one of the most prominent foreign players in the league’s history, boasting an impressive track record that includes clinching the championship title twice with the Quetta Gladiators and the Multan Sultans.

Over the course of eight editions, Rossouw has participated in 84 matches, amassing a total of 2015 runs. He boasts a commendable batting average of 31.98 combined with an astonishing strike rate of 142.7.

He has notched up two centuries and ten half-centuries, showcasing his ability to anchor innings and accelerate scoring when needed.

Rilee Rossouw has become the 11th foreign player to register for the PSL 10 Player Draft.

He joins an impressive roster that features New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell, Australia’s dynamic trio of Alex Carey and Usman Khawaja, as well as England’s skilled players including Tom Curran, David Willey, Dawid Malan, and Jason Roy.

Additionally, stars like Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman, along with Zimbabwe’s talented Sikandar Raza, are also part of the draft.
