KARACHI: Former Pakistan skipper – Shoaib Malik is set to lead the former champions – Peshawar Zalmi in the opening matches of the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
According to sources, Shoaib will be leading the Zalmi as the stand-in captain as the skipper Wahab Riaz will be out of action following his contraction to the widely spread.
Wahab, who returned a positive test, has been sent to isolation and will rejoin the squad after the conclusion of the quarantine period and a negative test.
Shoaib has 29 matches as the captain of multiple franchises, making him the fourth most experienced captain in PSL history. As a skipper, he has also won nine matches.
It is worth mentioning here that the Zalmi will start their PSL 7 campaign tomorrow against the 2019 champions – Quetta Gladiators at National Stadium Karachi.
