KARACHI: Pakistan batter Shan Masood is set to make his T20I debut today as Pakistan will lock horns against England in the opening encounter of the historic seven-match T20I series on home soil.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the left-handed batter will play his first T20I match today as he will be the 97th player to represent the Green Shirts in the T20Is.
The 32-year-old batter has already featured in 25 Tests and five ODIs for Pakistan.
“It’s a matter of honour to represent Pakistan in every format,” he said. “Now my goal is to cement my position in each format,”
“Red ball format helps you in setting the foundation of your game,” he added.
“I will try to give my best performances in the white ball as well,” hoped Shan, who is also part of Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad.
It is pertinent to mention here that England are currently on their first tour of Pakistan in almost 17 years. Both teams will roll into action at National Stadium Karachi for the first T20I.
