LONDON: Pakistani left-handed batter Shan Masood, who is representing Derbyshire in the ongoing County Championship 2022, has been nominated for the Professional Cricketers’ Association (PCA) Player of the Month Award.
Shan, who is enjoying a delightful run in the ongoing county championship, having scored 713 runs at an average of 118.83 including two double centuries, has been nominated for the PCA Player of the Month Award for April.
Apart from Shan, Hampshire’s Keith Barker, Yorkshire’s Harry Brook and Kent’s Ben Compton are also nominated for the award following their brilliant performances.
Taking to Twitter, the Wisden shared the announcement regarding Shan being nominated for the PCA Awards.
“Shan Masood, who has 713 County Championship runs this season at an average of 118.83, has been nominated for the PCA’s Player of the Month award,” the Wisden wrote.
“The other nominees are Hampshire’s Keith Barker, Yorkshire’s Harry Brook and Kent’s Ben Compton,” the caption added.

It is pertinent to mention here that Shan registered his career-best score of 239 in his side’s second-round fixture against Sussex before following up with an astonishing 219 during Derbyshire’s triumph over Leicestershire where he claimed the Match Most Valuable Player (MVP). The left-handed opener in his six innings this summer, Masood has failed to reach a half-century only on one occasion.
