RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s ace pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi on Monday, added another feather to his cap as he became the youngest bowler to take 200 T20 wickets amid the fifth PAK vs NZ T20I here at Pindi Cricket Stadium.
Shaheen Shah Afridi, who struck twice in the first over of New Zealand’s innings, stormed past some prominent bowlers to become the youngest to take 200 wickets in T20 cricket.
The left-arm pacer removed New Zealand captain Tom Latham on the first delivery of the innings and completed the double century of his T20 wickets.
Shaheen dethroned South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada to become the youngest overall and the quickest pacer to achieve the landmark.
Afghanistan superstar Rashid Khan leads the way when it comes to bowlers, quickest to take 200 wickets, followed by Pakistan’s Saeed Ajmal and Shaheen respectively.
It is worth mentioning here that Mark Chapman’s maiden T20I century powered New Zealand to outclass Pakistan by six wickets in the fifth T20I and levelled the five-match series 2-2.
The left-handed batter top-scored for New Zealand with a 57-ball 104, which featured 11 boundaries and four sixes.
