Shaheen Afridi roped in by Fortune Barishal in BPL 2024-25

Pakistan pace bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has been roped in by Fortune Barishal for the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024-25.

Shaheen will make his BPL debut during the upcoming 11th edition of the tournament, which is scheduled to commence on December 30.

The defending champions Fortune Barishal will kick off their campaign against the league’s newest franchise, Durbar Rajshahi in the opening match of the BPL 20024-25 at the iconic Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.

“Pakistani left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi will play for Fortune Barishal in the upcoming BPL,” the franchise confirmed in an official statement.

The star pacer is likely to feature in the first five games for Fortune Barishal as he has been granted a no-objection certificate (NOC) by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) until January 15.

Fortune Barishal’s roster boasts an impressive lineup of international talent, including renowned players like James Fuller, Pathum Nissanka, Nandre Burger, Kyle Mayers, Dawid Malan, Mohammad Nabi, Faheem Ashraf, and emerging stars such as Ali Mohammad and Jahandad Khan.

Moreover, the team features a group of experienced Bangladeshi players such as Tamim Iqbal, Towhid Hridoy, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Rishad Hossain, and Taijul Islam.
