LAHORE: Pakistan’s ODI vice-captain Shadab Khan has returned to Pakistan’s 16-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against West Indies, scheduled in June.
Under the captaincy of Babar Azam, the squad also contains Shadab (vice-captain), Abdullah Shafique, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imam-ul-Haq, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Haris (wicketkeeper/batter), Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper/batter), Mohammad Wasim Junior, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shahnawaz Dahani and Zahid Mahmood.
The series between the two teams will not be played in a managed environment, as a result, the national selectors have reduced the announced 21-member squad against Australia to 16 players.
Asif Ali, Haider Ali, Usman Qadir, and Asif Afridi remained unable to make it into the squad against West Indies, whereas, Saud Shakeel was not available for selection due to sinusitis surgery.
The 16-member squad will now report to the Pindi Stadium to start their training for the upcoming ODI series. The selected players, who are busy in the ongoing County Championship 2022 will also report to the training camp at the given time.
