Scottie Scheffler wins The Masters 2022 to claim his first major title

AUGUSTA: The world’s number Scottie Scheffler completed his dominant run and held his nerve calm to finish three shots clear of Northern Ireland’sRory McIlroy and won The Masters 2022 as his first major title, here at Augusta National.

Scheffler won the Green Jacket at Augusta with a one-under 71, missing two short putts for a double bogey on 18 and finished 10 under par.

Scheffler, who played outstanding golf during the four days at the spacious golf course in Augusta, refused to falter under the weight of being the tournament’s leader for nearly three days.

The 25-year-old American, in the end, awarded for his astonishing form by winning the most prestigious title and donning the famous green jacket.

McIlroy, who started the day one over par, sparked thoughts of a miraculous recovery when he holed out of the greenside bunker on the 18th hole amid breathtaking scenery, pulling within three strokes of the lead.

Scheffler, on the other hand, remained solid and built his lead, so his late bobble on the 18th green was unimportant.
