KARACHI: Pakistan’s former captain and wicketkeeper batter Sarfaraz Ahmed added another feather to his cap as he completed 6000 international runs across all formats.

Sarfaraz reached the landmark when he crossed 77 runs in the second Test against New Zealand on Wednesday and became the 24th Pakistani batter to achieve the milestone. He breached the mark in his 229th international appearance for Pakistan, including 51 Tests

The 35-year-old Sarfaraz played a phenomenal knock of 109-ball 78 under pressure and built a solid partnership of 150 runs with Saud Shakeel to wrest New Zealand’s tight group in the match.

The wicketkeeper batter scored his third consecutive fifty since his return to the national Test team after four years.

Saud, on the other hand, raised his maiden Test hundred and solidified Pakistan’s position in the game as they are closing on New Zealand’s first-inning total of 439.
