Renowned World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar Sami Zayn performed Umrah in the holy city of Makkah, ahead of his important Tag Team Championship title defence against Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa at Night of Champions.
Taking to Twitter, Sami Zayn shared pictures of himself in an ihram, the garments worn to perform Umrah by men, besides the Holy Kaaba with an emotional note regarding his experience.
“Being a pro wrestler and being with WWE has taken me to places I never dreamed I’d get to see and do things I never thought I’d get to do,” wrote Zayn.
“It has provided me a life filled with incredible experiences that I will cherish forever. This one is at the top of the list,” he added.
Besides Zayn, WWE also shared a Vlog of Zayn’s entire journey of pilgrimage to Mecca.
Sami Zayn is a Canadian-born Muslim wrestler of Syrian descent, he has been linked with WWE for eight years.
Zayn was not allowed to visit Saudi Arabia until recently due to diplomatic conflicts between Saudi Arabia and his county of origin Syria.
Saudi Arabia has now renewed its diplomatic relationship with Syria. People from countries are allowed to travel across countries.
