Saim Ayub undergoes medical check-up at clinic in London

LONDON: Pakistan’s left-handed opener Saim Ayub continues his recovery journey as he visited a private clinic in London on Thursday to undergo a detailed evaluation of his injured ankle.

The 22-year-old cricketer, accompanied by assistant coach Azhar Mahmood, had his appointment with Dr. David, a specialist consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon, who is set to provide a comprehensive update on Ayub’s condition.

Earlier, Saim underwent an initial assessment with Dr. Lucky Jeyaseelan, a renowned Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Surgeon.

The test results from these evaluations are expected to be presented to a medical panel today, which will determine the course of treatment and provide a timeframe for his recovery.

“There are some positive developments regarding the treatment. The reports will be out soon,” Azhar Mahmood shared.

Saim sustained a fractured ankle on the opening day of the Cape Town Test against South Africa, ruling him out for an initial six weeks.

In response, Mohsin Naqvi, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), took swift action, ensuring the young star received specialized treatment in the United Kingdom.

“Saim Ayub is a valuable asset for Pakistan cricket,” Naqvi stated. “We will provide every possible resource for his treatment and recovery.”

Naqvi also extended his heartfelt wishes for the player’s swift recovery.

“I am praying for his complete health and will continue to monitor his condition closely by staying in constant contact with the doctors,” he remarked.
