Pakistan top-order batter Sahibzada Farhan etched his name in the record books with a stunning unbeaten 162 off just 72 balls, while playing for Peshawar Region against Quetta Region in the National T20 Cup on Friday.

Coming into this match in red-hot form, having already registered a century and two fifties in his last three innings, Farhan made the most of his momentum.

After Waqar Ahmed fell for 15 off 12, he was joined by Maaz Sadaqat, and the duo put up a commanding partnership.

Sadaqat retired hurt after scoring 54 off 38, while Farhan stayed unbeaten, tearing apart Quetta’s bowling attack with 14 fours and 11 sixes.

His breathtaking 162-run knock not only powered Peshawar to victory but also shattered multiple records in the process.

During his phenomenal innings, Sahibzada Farhan broke the record for the highest individual score by a Pakistani batter in T20s, surpassing Kamran Akmal’s 150 off 71 balls, which was set in the 2017 National T20 Cup for Lahore Whites against Islamabad.

Additionally, his 162 now stands as the joint third-highest individual score in T20 history, equaling the exploits of Dewald Brevis (South Africa), Hamilton Masakadza (Zimbabwe), and Hazratullah Zazai (Afghanistan).

Only Chris Gayle’s iconic 175 (2013 IPL) and Aaron Finch’s 172 (2018)* stand above him.

Highest Individual Scores in T20 History:

  1. Chris Gayle – 175* vs Pune Warriors (2013)

  2. Aaron Finch – 172 vs Zimbabwe (2018)

  3. Hamilton Masakadza – 162* vs Eagles (2016)
