DUBAI: Pakistan’s top-order batter Sahibzada Farhan continued his upward trajectory in the ICC Men’s Player Rankings as he broke into the top five of T20I batters on Wednesday.
Farhan, who dominated the recently concluded home T20I tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe as the leading run-scorer, has climbed to fifth place with 752 rating points, edging past India’s Tilak Varma.
His surge reflects a period of sustained consistency that has quickly elevated him into the global elite of the format.
Pakistan also continue to hold a firm grip on the top spot in the T20I all-rounders category, with Saim Ayub retaining his No.1 ranking.
India’s Hardik Pandya, meanwhile, moved up three places to fourth, closing in on the upper tier.
There was encouraging movement for Pakistan in the Test batting charts as well. Middle-order batter Saud Shakeel broke into the Top 10, climbing one spot to reach a 10th position.
In the Test bowling rankings, however, there was a slight dip for Noman Ali, who slipped to fourth after Australia’s Mitchell Starc jumped three places into third on the back of strong Ashes outings.
Pakistan’s ODI bowlers also enjoyed a rankings boost. Shaheen Shah Afridi moved up two places to 19th, while Haris Rauf gained one spot to reach 22nd.
