LAHORE: Abdul Rehman and Umar Gul have been appointed as Pakistan’s head coach and bowling coach, respectively, for the upcoming three T20Is against Afghanistan in Sharjah later this month.
Mohammad Yousuf and Abdul Majeed will continue their roles as batting and fielding coaches.
Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee Najam Sethi announced the national team’s support personnel for the three-match T20I series against neighbouring Afghanistan.

Rehman was the head coach of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when they won National T20 and Pakistan Cup and is currently serving as assistant coach of Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League season 8.
Umar Gul remained Afghanistan’s bowling coach during last year’s T20 World Cup and Asia Cup. Recently, he was also associated with Quetta Gladiators during PSL 8.
It may be noted here on Monday, PCB named a new-look 15-member squad under the captaincy of Shadab Khan for the forthcoming T20I series.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam, along with Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi were given rest while four uncapped players, namely, Ihsanullah, Saim Ayub, Tayyab Tahir and Zaman Khan were included in the squad.
Whereas, Abdullah Shafique, Azam Khan, Faheem Ashraf and Imad Wasim have been recalled to the national T20I side.
