Downpour begins in New York ahead of blockbuster Pakistan-India clash

NEW YORK: Dark clouds began to downpour here ahead of the highly-anticipated ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 clash between fierce rivals Pakistan and India, scheduled at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

According to the details, it has started raining heavily across the newly-built stadium here, just 30 minutes before the scheduled time for the coin toss.

As a result, the square of the outfield has been covered to prevent it from getting damped.

Earlier, the weather forecast predicted a 30 to 50 per cent chance of rain before the match at the Nassau County Stadium in New York.

The match will be held at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in Long Island, New York. For viewers in India and Pakistan, it would be at 8 pm and 7:30 pm respectively while the toss will take place 30 minutes prior.
