Quetta Gladiators rope in overseas trio ahead of PSL 10 resumption

Quetta Gladiators have bolstered their squad after bringing in a prominent Sri Lankan duo and a talented all-rounder from Afghanistan for the remaining 10 matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The franchise announced the arrival of Srilanka’s Dinesh Chandimal, Avishka Fernando and Afghanistan’s Gulbadin Naib in a social media post.

The caption stated that the three overseas players joined the team as replacements.

“Replacement Picks, Adding more power to the #PurpleForce,” the caption read.

Chandimal has represented Sri Lanka in 68 T20IS, scoring 1062 runs with the help of six half-centuries. He was also a key member of Sri Lanka’s  2014 ICC World Twenty20 winning team.

The 27-year-old Fernando has been a regular feature in the Sri Lankan lineup for the past couple of years.

Notably, Rawalpindi will host three matches, including a double-header on Sunday, May 18, with Quetta Gladiators taking on Multan Sultans in the afternoon, followed by a clash between Peshawar Zalmi and Lahore Qalandars in the evening.
