KARACHI: Shadab Khan, the captain of Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), while talking to the presser on Sunday said that he tries to focus on his performance regardless of the criticism.
During the press conference, Shadab stated that he only concentrates on putting on shows while responding to his critics.
“The job of the people is to criticize, while I try to focus on my performances,” Shadab said.
“I will promote myself in the batting order, this year as well,” he added.
When asked about the team combination for the PSL 7, the 23-year-old acknowledged that the line-up meets up to expectations., while determined of winning another title for the United.
“Our squad lined-up as per the expectations, we will try to win another title for the United,” he said.
“We are eager to carry on the previous year’s momentum,” he added.
Shadab also claimed that his former captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed, taught him a lot and that he now uses the same strategies against his side.
“I learned a lot from Sarfraz Bhai, and now use what he has taught against his own team in PSL,” he said.
Shadab also lauded Pakistan’s young pacer – Mohammad Hasnain for his remarkable stint in the Big Bash League (BBL).
“Our fast bowlers have always performed all over the world. Hasnain bowled brilliantly in Big Bash this time,” he said.
“And of course, the batsmen had a hard time playing it with the pace he bowled there,” he added.
Shadab also kept on saying that playing in the BBL will help our players to prepare for the next World Cup, scheduled in Australia.
