PCB unveils star-studded commentary panel for New Zealand series

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday revealed a star-studded commentary panel for the New Zealand tour of Pakistan starting on December 26.

The Kiwi side will play two Tests, part of the ICC Test Championship cycle, and three ODIs against the home side during their first tour of Pakistan in 20 years.

According to the PCB, Pakistan’s legendary cricketer Waqar Younis, alongside Urooj Mumtaz and Bazid Khan, will be joined by the veteran New Zealand commentators Simon Doull, Danny Morrison, Chris Harris and Scott Styris in the commentary panel.

These experts will also offer pre and post-match analysis throughout the series which will be hosted by renowned presenter Sikander Bakht.

The production will be done through 27 full High-Definition cameras, including Buggy cam. To help with the Decision Review System (DRS), a comprehensive Hawkeye set-up will also be used.

Meanwhile, New Zealand under the leadership of captain Tim Southee held their first training session on Friday at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi- the venue for the opening Test.

The Test series opener will be held from December 26 to 30 in Karachi before the two sides will move to Multan for the second Test starting on January 3. However, the three ODIs will be played on 10, 12 and 14 January in Karachi.
