LAHORE: Pakistan opener Sidra Amin and wicketkeeper batter Sidra Nawaz have received recalls as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) unveiled the squad for the upcoming Women’s Asia Cup 2022.
The PCB has made three changes to the T20I squad that partook in the Tri-Series in Ireland (that included hosts and Australia) and Birmingham Commonwealth Games in July-August as Iram Javed, Anam Amin, and Gul Feroza missed out.
Following their ouster, opening batter Sidra Amin and wicketkeeper batter Sidra Nawaz earned recalls into the national side, while young all-rounder Sadaf Shams earned her maiden call-up.
All-rounder Bismah Maroof will be leading the national contingent in the continental event, while head coach David Hemp, who decided not to extend his contract with the PCB will also be accompanying the side as his contract is due to expire in mid-October this year.
Nashra Sundhu, Natalia Pervaiz, Umme Hani, and Waheeda Akhtar were named in the reserved quota of players.
The Women’s Asia Cup will be held at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Bangladesh, from October 1 to 16, with seven teams competing in the T20 tournament.
