PCB set to hand Pakistan Shaheens’ reins to Aizaz Cheema

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to appoint former right-arm pacer Aizaz Cheema as the head coach of the Pakistan Shaheens for their upcoming tour of Zimbabwe.

Taking up the reins of Pakistan Shaheens, Aizaz will lead the coaching staff which includes trainer Saboor Ahmed, Physiotherapist Muhammad Asad and Team Analyst Faisal Rai, while the team manager is yet to be appointed.

Opening batter Imran Butt will lead the Shaheens’ squad which features prominent cricketers including Shahnawaz Dahani, Hussain Talat and Mir Hamza.

The Shaheens will kick off their training on Saturday in Karachi before their aforementioned international tour. The players will take part in an 11-day camp at the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Center, till April 18.

The side will then travel to Zimbabwe where they will play two four-dayers and six 50-over matches from May 3 to 27.
