LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has begun the search for the national men’s team fielding coach.
According to the requirements listed in the advertisement, the successful candidate must hold at least a Level II cricket coaching qualification and have a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role working with elite cricketers, national teams, franchise sides, or international teams.
The candidates should have a strong understanding of fielding techniques, game analysis, and player development, along with proven experience in monitoring and evaluating international-level systems and processes for developing batting skills.
The position became vacant after Australian Shane McDermott stepped down last month.

McDermott was appointed Pakistan’s all-format fielding coach in July last year and was expected to remain part of the team’s support staff for the Asian Games in September.
McDermott previously held fielding coaching roles with several international teams. He spent three years as Bangladesh’s assistant fielding coach before working with Sri Lanka for a further three years.
His first assignment with Pakistan came during their three-match T20I series in Bangladesh after he replaced Mohammad Masroor as fielding coach.
McDermott’s departure was reported a day before Pakistan travelled for their two-Test series against West Indies, which was scheduled to run from 25 July to 6 August.
