KARACHI: In the final round match of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, against Balochistan, Northern faced a heavy penalty for the slow over-rate, on Monday.
In the match played at State Bank Sports Complex Karachi, Northern was six overs short in the allotted time.
Under Section 2.22 of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Code of Conduct, all the players involved in Northern’s playing XI fined 72,000 PKR.
Northern captain Noman Ali accepted the decision of match referee Nadeem Arshad regarding the fine.
Northern, in the following match, thrashed Balochistan by an innings and 170 runs; advancing into the final of the tournament. Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also made its way to the final, defeating Central Punjab by 244 runs.
The two sides will lock horns in the final from December 25th till 29th December.
