LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday imposed a two-year ban on domestic cricketer Hamza Nazar from participating in all forms of cricket.
The board announced the decision in a press release, outlining the reasons behind the ban.
“The disciplinary action follows an inquiry into information provided by Hamza Nazar while applying for a visa through the PCB. The inquiry found that he had failed to disclose complete and accurate information, provided misleading information, and withheld material facts during the application process,” the statement read.
The board also revealed that the three-member inquiry committee gave Hamza an opportunity to present his case.
“The PCB constituted a three-member inquiry committee. The committee provided Hamza Nazar with an opportunity to present his position and respond to the matters under consideration,” it added.

Following his explanation and a review of the available information, the committee submitted its findings and recommendations to the PCB.
After a detailed review of the committee’s findings, the PCB decided to suspend Hamza Nazar from all forms of domestic and international cricket for two years and imposed a fine of PKR one million.
Overall, Hamza has played 29 first-class matches, scoring 748 runs at an average of 29.92, including one century and five fifties.
The 27-year-old was also part of the Sialkot Region last year, which played the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final against the Karachi Region Blues. The right-hander scored 64 and 56 in the first and second innings, respectively, but his side ultimately finished on the losing side.
