KARACHI: Pakistan’s weightlifter Talha Talib, who represented the country in Tokyo Olympics has returned a positive dope test result conducted by International Testing Agency (ITA).
Talha, who came in fifth place in weightlifting at the Tokyo Olympics, failed a drug test. The weightlifter’s blood samples were found to contain illicit drug samples, according to the details.
Talha, on the other hand, has refused to accept the allegations, claiming that he never used any forbidden drug.
“I never used illicit drugs. I have also informed the ITA that both of my post-Olympics tests were negative,” Talha said.
It is pertinent to mention here that with the positive dope test, Talha’s inclusion in the upcoming Commonwealth Games is now doubtful as the 22-years-old may face up to four years of ban.
