Pakistan’s biggest ever Chess and Scrabble event kicks off today

LAHORE: The biggest Chess and Scrabble event in the history of Pakistan – Punjab Mind Sports Masters 2022 – has kicked off here on Saturday.

More than 600 participants from all walks of life are competing in the largest and most prestigious mind sports competition in the country’s history. Young children, girls, women, men and senior citizens are also taking part in different competitions.

On this occasion, Sports Minister Punjab Rai Taimoor Khan said this tournament will help in bringing the new talent to the spotlight and they will then soon represent Pakistan on the biggest of levels.

“New talent will emerge from this tournament and we will then take them to the next level,” he said.

“We are promoting mind sports to our fullest. This tournament has participants from all age groups,” he concluded.
