BIRMINGHAM: Pakistani Boxer Ilyas Hussain glittered with a promising start as he beat Lesotho’s Moroke Mokhoto in the opening round of the boxing event at the Commonwealth Games, here on Saturday.
Ilyas knocked down his opponent in the second round of the fight to reach the pre-quarter-final stage of the Men’s Featherweight category.
Ilyas shone the other day to keep Pakistan’s medal hope alive as he will now face Trinidad and Tobago’s Anthony Shawn Joseph in the round of 16 of the 57kg Category of the boxing event.
