The flawless run of Pakistan at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Qualifiers has not only sealed their berth in the main event later this year but also triggered a wave of individual gains in the latest ODI Player Rankings.
The home side remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and capped off their dominant campaign with a clinical seven-wicket win over Bangladesh at the Gaddafi Stadium last week, topping the points table in the process.
Leading from the front, captain Fatima Sana emerged as the highest wicket-taker for Pakistan with 12 dismissals during the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Qualifiers.
Her all-round efforts — including 103 runs at an average of 34.33, have been recognised, as she surged five places to joint 27th in the ODI bowling rankings and made a big leap in the all-rounders’ category, moving up 10 spots to a joint-15th.
Left-arm spinner Sadia Iqbal, who picked up nine wickets during the Qualifiers, climbed five positions to claim 17th place among bowlers, while fellow spinner Nashra Sandhu improved by one spot to reach 13th.
With the bat, Pakistan top-order batter Sidra Amin continued her rise after finishing as the team’s highest run-scorer in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Qualifiers.
Her 225 runs in five innings, which included three half-centuries, propelled her five places up to 18th in the batting rankings. Wicketkeeper-batter Muneeba Ali also achieved a career-best, moving into the top 30 for the first time.
Meanwhile, fellow World Cup qualifiers Bangladesh also saw key players benefit from the rankings update.
Spinner Nahida Akter broke into the top 10 for the first time in her career, climbing two spots to claim 10th position after taking six wickets in the tournament. Sharmin Akhter also reached a career-high ranking, securing the 21st spot among batters.
West Indies captain Hayley Matthews, who ended the Qualifiers as the leading wicket-taker with 13 scalps, retained her ninth position in the ICC women’s ODI bowling rankings. She also rose two places in the batting charts to secure the fifth spot overall.
