Pakistan team delivered a statement performance in Jeonju, South Korea, clinching the title of the Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship 2025 with a commanding 60-35 win over the Maldives in the final.
Held at the Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium, the girls in green maintained their unbeaten run throughout the tournament, outplaying every opponent with confidence, structure and relentless energy.
Their final victory over the Maldives was another clinical display, as they dominated each quarter: leading 17-5 after the first, 34-17 by halftime, and never letting the momentum slip.
Standout performances came from the ever-reliable Leya Raza Shah, Alisha Naveed, Sumayya Kouser, Haleema, Jasmine Farooq, Amani, Parisa, and Farah Rasheed, each playing a vital role across the court.
The win marked Pakistan’s sixth consecutive triumph in the competition and underscored their consistency and dominance throughout the week-long event, which ran from June 27 to July 4 under the banner of the Asian Netball Federation.
Earlier, Pakistan had stormed into the final after dismantling Japan 64-39 in the semifinal. That match too was one-sided, with Pakistan asserting control from the outset, leading 21-7 after the first quarter and never looking back.
The semifinal performance mirrored the team’s tournament form: high-tempo, aggressive defense and smart ball movement in attack.
Chairman of the Pakistan Netball Federation Mudassar Arian, President Sameen Malik, and Secretary General Muhammad Riaz were quick to extend their congratulations, praising the players and support staff for an exceptional campaign.
“This team has shown what discipline, talent, and teamwork can achieve. They’ve made the nation proud,” the Federation officials said in a joint statement.
The tournament featured 11 teams split into two groups. Group A included Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, and India, while Pakistan were placed in Group B alongside Chinese Taipei, Japan, Korea, Maldives, and Saudi Arabia.
