Pakistan, West Indies set to scrap ODIs from bilateral series: Reports

LAHORE: The three-match One Day International (ODI) series between Pakistan and West Indies is likely to be replaced with a five-match T20I series in preparation for the Asia Cup and ICC T20 World Cup next year.

According to the reports, Cricket West Indies and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have mutually agreed to reschedule the One Day International (ODI) series with T20Is.

The series holds significant importance for both teams as they gear up for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which will be hosted by India and Sri Lanka in the February-March window next year.

Initially, the Pakistan cricket team was scheduled to play a three-match ODI series at the end of July in the West Indies, following their upcoming T20I series against the same opposition in Florida.

The three-match ODI series between Pakistan and the West Indies was scheduled to take place at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad on August 8, with the last match of the tour to take place on August 12.

However, the two boards later reversed the decision and agreed to a three-match T20I series instead.
