Pakistan-West Indies ODI series to be shifted to Multan: Sources

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to shift the upcoming home ODI series between Pakistan and West Indies to Multan following the ongoing political instability in the city, sources claimed.

According to the details, following the current political situation in Islamabad, the PCB has opted to go towards the backup option for the series – Multan. The series was originally scheduled to be played in Rawalpindi, however, the rising political tensions forced the cricket board to go for a different option.

The booking and reservations of the hotel and flights have been started by the PCB for the new venue. Whereas, an official statement by the PCB is also expected by today evening.

Sources further claimed that the touring side West Indies will reach Multan directly on June 5. Whereas, the first ODI against Pakistan is scheduled for June 8.

It is pertinent to mention here that the second and third ODI between the two teams will be played on June 10 and 12 respectively.
