Pakistan team holds training session at Lincoln Uni before Tri-series opener

CHRISTCHURCH: Pakistan Cricket team underwent an indoor training session on Thursday at the Lincoln University in Christchurch ahead of the opening encounter of the tri-nation series against Bangladesh tomorrow. 

According to the details, the national team held practice sessions in the indoor halls of the university, which were equipped with natural turf pitches to simulate on-field training.

The team had a productive day as the players went through rigorous batting, bowling and fielding drills during the session which was attended by all the members of the squad.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also shared pictures of the national team’s preparations for the series on its official Twitter account.

Babar Azam-led Pakistan team will play their first match of the tri-series on Friday (tomorrow) before facing the hosts New Zealand on Saturday.

Each team will be facing the opposing sides twice in the triangular series before the top two teams qualify for the final, scheduled on October 14 (Sunday)

Meanwhile Pakistan captain Babar called the tri-series crucial for the team ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, starting from October 16.

“It’s a great opportunity to prepare ourselves for the World Cup,” he said at a media talk in Christchurch.
