Van der Dussen’s century leads SA to six-wicket win over Pakistan

Abu Dhabi: Rassie van der Dussen played an extraordinary knock of unbeaten 101 to hand South Africa a six-wicket win over Pakistan in the second warm-up match of T20 World Cup.

Van der Dussen, in his 51-ball innings, stroked ten fours and four sixes. He batted with a strike rate of almost 200. He hit the winnings runs on the last ball and also completed his hundred. David Miller remained not out on 14 off eight balls.

Proteas captain Temba Bavuma was the other notable contributor, scoring 46 off 42 balls.

For Pakistan, Imad Wasim and Shaheen Shah Afridi were impressive with the ball. They both bagged two wickets each.

Earlier, Fakhar Zaman hit fifty while other batters supported brilliantly as Pakistan have posted a competitive total of 186/6 in 20 overs.

After losing the opening pair of skipper Babar Azam (15) and Mohammad Rizwan (19) early, Fakhar paired with Mohammad Hafeez to give momentum to the innings.

Hafeez (13) fell in the 11th over to Keshav Maharaj. Fakhar continued his onslaught while Malik chipped in with singles to support him. Fakhar retired out after scoring 28-ball 52, powered by five sixes and two fours.

Malik scored 28 off 20 while Asif Ali took the charge with aggressive batting. He made 32 off just 18 balls, powered by two fours and as many sixers.

For Proteas, Kagiso Rabada bagged three wickets while Maharaj and Anrich Nortje took a wicket each.

It must be noted Pakistan defeated West Indies by seven wickets in the first warm-up fixture.
