Pakistan and India are among the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) members to have raised concerns about the venue for cricket at the Asian Games 2026 in Japan.
The cricket competition is scheduled to be held at Korogo Sports Park in Nagoya, a venue that was used for baseball until recently.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is understood to have been the first ACC member to raise concerns about the venue, with the quality of the pitch and the available facilities among the issues highlighted.
The ACC is now expected to send representatives to inspect the ground, pitch and dressing rooms before the competition.
“It is a very rudimentary ground, and there remains a question mark over the quality of the pitch. It has been laid very recently and, apart from one tournament, that too in May, hasn’t been tested much. There are no proper dressing rooms as well,” the report quoted a source as saying.

The source said the pitch had been laid recently and had hosted only one tournament in May.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also reportedly contacted the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Asian Games organising committee after an ACC meeting. The IOC advised the BCCI to consult the organising committee, according to the report.
“It is a genuine problem, since the rooms are very tiny. If one player opens a kit bag, there won’t be much space left to stand. We are trying to figure out a solution to this problem,” the report quoted an official.
