LAHORE: Pakistan men’s team fielding coach Shan McDermott has resigned from his position ahead of the West Indies tour, with Mansoor Amjad set to replace him.
The Australian, who was appointed as Pakistan’s all-format fielding coach in July last year on an undisclosed contract, had been expected to remain with the team for the Asian Games in September.
According to the sources, no reason for his departure has been made public.
Before joining Pakistan, Shane McDermott worked in fielding coaching roles with Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, spending three years with each national side.
His first assignment with Pakistan came during the team’s three-match T20I series in Bangladesh, when he replaced Mohammad Masroor as fielding coach.
