Pakistan eye revenge to seal series victory over England after six years

LAHORE: In a highly-competitive seven-match series, levelled at 3-3 after the first six matches, Pakistan would seek revenge from a crushing sixth T20I defeat to claim series victory over England after six years in the final match at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday.

The two sides went hard at each other in the first six matches with England winning the first, third, and sixth match, while Pakistan emerged victorious in the second, fourth, and fifth.

England’s hard-hitting opening batter Phil Salt – who rose to fame from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) – charged on the Pakistan bowling attack in the absence of star speedster Haris Rauf and powered England to a dominating eight wickets victory.

In an all-important series decider, Pakistan would likely recruit back their key players Mohammad Rizwan and Haris Rauf to go with the full flow against England in a bid to seal a series victory over the side after six years.

England, on the other hand, fuelled with momentum likely to bring in their key pacer Mark Wood to carry on their domination over the hosts.

Pakistan, once again, would be relying heavily on their opening pair – Babar Azam and Rizwan – and the bowling attack, while the middle-order persists to be a concern for the men in green.

Whereas England will rely on last-match hero Salt and their powerful middle order, their bowling attack would also strengthen with the return of Wood.
