Pakistan Cricket Board announces women’s cricket calendar for 2022-23

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the cricketing calendar for the women’s team that features eight international series and three domestic tournaments.

According to the cricketing calendar revealed by the PCB, the green shirts will participate in eight international series and three domestic events.

The international fixtures comprise ICC Women’s Championship matches, ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, and ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup.

The month of May will mark the first instance of Pakistan hosting ICC Women’s Championship matches as Sri Lanka will tour the country to play three ODIs. The tour also includes three T20Is.

Furthermore, Pakistan will host three more ICC Women’s Championship matches with Ireland touring the country for the first time in October. The two sides will also lock horns in as many T20Is.

The domestic season will roll into action with the first U19 T20 competition, which is a part of the pathway structure.

The top players from the junior event will then be able to participate in the senior women’s domestic season.

In September-October, the PCB will organize a Triangular T20 Cricket Women Championship and the season will then conclude with a 14-match Pakistan Women’s ODI Tournament in April with Karachi hosting the four-team event.
