Pakistan clinch five medals at Asian Junior Squash Championships

PANZHIUA: Pakistan young players excelled at the 33rd Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships 2026 held in China, winning five medals across multiple age categories.

A total of eight Pakistani players represented the country in the continental event, with five athletes successfully finishing on the podium.

Pakistan secured two gold medals through Nauman Khan in the Boys U-17 category and Ahmad Rayyan Khalil in the Boys U-15 category.

In the Boys U-17 final, Nauman Khan defeated India’s Shiven Agarwal 3-1 with scores of 10-12, 11-7, 11-2, 11-5 in a 46-minute contest to clinch the championship title.

Ahmad Rayyan Khalil produced a dominant performance in the Boys U-15 final, defeating Malaysia’s PNG Vidhurran Ruthiran 3-0 with scores of 11-7, 11-3, 11-4 in just 29 minutes.

Pakistan also earned a silver medal through Mahnoor Ali in the Girls U-15 category. Mahnoor fought bravely in the final but narrowly lost to China’s Ziyuan Yin 0-3 with scores of 10-12, 9-11, 10-12 in a closely contested 23-minute match.

The country added two bronze medals to tally with Muhammad Umair Arif in the Boys U-17 category and Muhammad Sohail Adnan in the Boys U-15 category, sealing victories in their respective categories.

Meanwhile, Abdullah Nawaz and Mustafa Khan reached the quarterfinal stage, while Sehrish Ali advanced to the third round before losing to her sister, Mahnoor Ali.

Pakistan finished the championship with a total of five medals — two gold, one silver, and two bronze.
