Pakistan beat Palestine to win West Asia Baseball Cup 2023

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan won the West Asia Baseball Cup 2023 as they defeated Palestine in the tournament’s final, here on Wednesday. 

With a remarkable 11-3 victory in the final, Pakistan also qualified for the Asian Games whereas both the finalists have already qualified for the Asian Baseball Championship in Taiwan, a qualifying tournament for the Baseball World Cup.

Pitchers Muhammad Amjad Hussain and Muhammad Zoahib starred for Pakistan with their fierce pitching during the game.

Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Ehsan ur Rehman Mazari attended the final as the chief guest. Meanwhile, President Pakistan Federation Baseball Syed Fakhar Shah was also present on the occasion.

Earlier Pakistan beat defending champions Sri Lanka 16-1 in the semifinal on Tuesday, whereas, Palestine defeated Bangladesh by 14-3 in the other semifinal.

It is pertinent to mention here that seven teams took part in the 15th West Asia Baseball Cup held in Islamabad which includes hosts Pakistan, Palestine, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Nepal.
