Oman have announced a 14-member squad and a new captain for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled to be co-hosted in the West Indies and the United States of America (USA).
All-rounder Aqib Ilyas has been appointed as the captain for the mega-event, replacing 36-year-old Zeeshan Maqsood, who was the captain since the 2016 T20 World Cup.
“I am truly honoured to be entrusted with the captaincy. It’s a huge responsibility, and I aim to lead the team to many victories,” stated Ilyas.
“We are preparing rigorously for the World Cup, and the recent ACC Premier Cup has provided us with invaluable preparation.”
