KARACHI: Former Test wicket-keeper Moin Khan believes that Sarfaraz Ahmed needs to perform for putting pressure on the national team’s selectors.
Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Moin said selectors will go for new people and players who are performing.
“It’s a natural thing, if you perform, you remain in the team. Sarfaraz needs to think about it and perform in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season to put pressure on selectors,” he said.
“See, I have always believed that Sarfaraz needs to change his batting number in T20Is. Scoring runs is more important than leading a team. If he scores runs, he will be a strong candidate after Rizwan,” he added.
While talking about his son Azam Khan’s future, Moin said he is doing good and under the consideration of selectors. “Azam has done pretty well in the recent past. He is obviously in selectors’ plans for the future. As far as his keeping in Quetta Gladiators under Sarfaraz is concerned, we will look into it whenever needed. Sarfaraz is the captain of the team and understands things better,” he concluded.
