National Assembly’s standing committee questions Ramiz Raja’s absence

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) presented the salary details of the top officials in the meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination, here on Wednesday.

The committee expressed its displeasure with the PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja’s non-participation in a meeting presided over by the committee chairman, Malik Nawab Sher Waseer. According to PCB officials, Ramiz could not attend the session following his meeting with Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah over the Pakistan Super League (PSL) preparations.

The PCB officials then presented the income details of the senior officials of the cricket board. The officials also told the committee that the former PCB CEO was receiving 2.6 million rupees each month.

According to PCB,  Pakistan cricket team physiotherapist Cliffe Deacon’s salary is 2.1 million, Director High-Performance Muhammad Nadeem Khan receiving 1.315 million, Head of International Players Development Saqalain Mushtaq 1.277 million, CEO PCB Salman Naseer 1.245 million, Chief Financial Officer Javed Murtaza 1.24 million, while Chairman Selection Committee Mohammad Wasim receives 1 million rupees each month.

PCB officials also revealed the earnings of other officers who earn around half a million rupees.

Committee member, Iqbal Muhammad Ali Khan said that the issues regarding the audit of the PCB could not be resolved.

“The audit of the PCB could not be addressed. If the audit issues remained unsolved, the case will be referred to the FIA,” he said.
