Nashra Sandhu replaces injured Fatima Sana for Women’s T20 Asia Cup

LAHORE: Left-arm spinner Nashra Sandhu replaced pacer Fatima Sana for the upcoming Women’s Asia Cup T20 after the latter sustained an injury that ruled her out of the tournament.

Fatima, who was representing Barbados Royals in the recently-held Women’s Caribbean Premier League, sustained an ankle injury that kept her out of the continental event.

Following Fatima ruling out of the Asia Cup, left-arm spinner Nashra replaced the former, who has represented Pakistan in 77 matches. Nashra was amongst the four reserve players for the Women’s Asia Cup.

The national women’s team is currently partaking in a 10-day training camp, set up at Lahore Country Club in Muridke and will depart for Bangladesh on September 28.

The Green Shirts will start their Asia Cup 2022 campaign against Malaysia on October 2 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
